Brain MRI and F-18 FDG brain and whole-body PET/CT images. (A) No obvious abnormalities were found in axial and sagittal slices from T2-weighted MR images. (B) Whole cerebellar cortex had diffuse F-18 FDG hypermetabolism in PET/CT brain images, with SUVmax of 25.91. (C and D) Whole-body F-18 FDG-PET/CT showing distended bladder. Images of a 39-year-old who underwent screening mammography. Right craniocaudal (left) and mediolateral oblique (middle) views from preoperative mammography show suspicious grouped fine pleomorphic calcifications (arrows). After biopsy showed ductal carcinoma of situ (DCIS), patient underwent breast-conserving surgery, yielding final diagnosis of ductal carcinoma in situ (intermediate grade, hormone receptor positive). (Right) Screenshot of an output of a commercial AI tool applied to preoperative mammography. AI detected right breast lesion with score of 95% on both views (concentric colored circles). Present study’s reviewing radiologist deemed AI marking to correspond with site of DCIS.

Could AI scoring help with managing DCIS?
Axial contrast-enhanced CT scan in a 28-year-old premenopausal woman shows an incidentally detected solid-appearing left ovarian lesion (solid arrow) anterior to the uterus (U), associated with trace ascites in the right adnexa and cul de sac (dashed arrows). At pathologic analysis, this was shown to be ovarian dysgerminoma. Two readers misdiagnosed this lesion, one as a leiomyoma and one as an ovarian fibroma.

How does F-18 flurpiridaz PET perform in routine clinical practice?
By Will Morton
A study provides real-world insights into the clinical implementation of F-18 flurpiridaz PET in a diverse group.
January 26, 2026
Ischemia in the circumflex territory. F-18 flurpiridaz PET showed a perfusion defect in the lateral wall during pharmacological stress, which improved in rest. Myocardial blood flow (MBF) quantification showed decreased MBFstress (1.4 mL/min/g) and myocardial flow reserve (MFR) (2.2) in the circumflex (Cx) territory, with adequate flow in the left anterior descending and right coronary artery territories, MBFstress 2.6 and 2.2 mL/min/g, and MFR 3.4 and 3.1, respectively. Coronary angiography showed a 70%-99% stenosis in the Cx artery, for which percutaneous coronary intervention was performed with good result and good clinical outcome.
