The American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) of Sudbury, MA, installed its 2004 board of directors at its annual meeting in Anaheim, CA, this August.
Michael Albertina, administrative director of imaging services at Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, is the AHRA’s new president. Roberta Edge from Sutter Gould Medical Foundation in Modesto, CA, is the president-elect, and Mel Allen of Philips Medical Systems is the organization's finance director.
The group also installed its Education Foundation board of directors at the 31st annual meeting.
Judy Dye, vice president of University Medical Center in Tucson, AZ, is the 2004 chair of the foundation. Joining her as vice-chair is Elizabeth McKnight of Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, and Mel Allen is taking on the position of secretary/treasurer.
The AHRA also named five recipients of the Amersham Health Award for Excellence. Kent Johnson of Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, IN; Lauri MacDonald of Oak Lawn MR & Imaging Center in Oak Lawn, IL; Darlene May of Northcrest Medical Center in Springfield, TN; Lynn McVey of Beth Israel Hospital in Passaic, NJ; and James Miller of Mission Hospitals in Ashville, NC, were the 2003 honorees.
The recognized several other AHRA members for their contributions to the profession of imaging and healthcare administration. Sheila Sferrella of Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA, was named as the group’s 2003 Gold Award winner.
Debra Lopez of Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, CA, was named an AHRA Fellow for her work for the society over the past six years. The President’s Award was given to Mel Allen for his significant contributions to the AHRA.
