Outpatient radiology and oncology service provider Akumin has selected Lunit’s Insight DBT breast screening software to enhance its breast imaging services.
Insight DBT is an AI-based tool that analyzes digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) images to improve the detection of early-stage cancers while reducing false positives; it has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for 3D image use.
Akumin, which operates more than 150 fixed sites as well as mobile imaging units, also provides outsourced services to more than 1,000 healthcare providers and physician groups across the U.S.
The company said that the adoption of Lunit's Insight DBT marks an important step in its plans to integrate advanced technologies that expand patient access to precision diagnostics into its network.
