Driven by the addition of sales from its acquisition of Cynosure, women's imaging firm Hologic reported a 10% increase in revenues for the company's fourth quarter, although net income slipped.
For the period, Hologic posted sales of $802.9 million, compared with sales of $726.8 million in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2016. Without the addition of revenues from Cynosure, the company's sales still would have grown 4.4% at constant currency rates. The company's net income for the quarter came in at $82.7 million, compared with $92.2 million in the corresponding quarter the year before.
For the year, Hologic reported revenues of $3.059 billion, up 8% from revenues of $2.833 billion in fiscal 2016. The company's net income for the year was $755.5 million, compared with $330.8 million in 2016.
On a business line basis, sales in Hologic's Breast Health segment were $300.9 million, up 2.9% from $292.3 million the year before. The company said that revenue in the U.S. fell 1.2% as changes in product mix were offset by increases in service and new product revenue. International revenue grew 20.6% at constant currency rates.

![A normal mammogram confirmed by three-year radiologic follow-up illustrates reader-marked regions of interest (ROIs) during (A) unaided (round 1) and (B) artificial intelligence (AI)–assisted (round 2) reading. Each colored dot represents an ROI for recall by a human reader. Readers could mark more than one ROI per case, represented by multiple dots of the same color. During AI-assisted reading, the AI system displayed three visible prompts: two with suspicion of malignancy scores of 35% (left mediolateral oblique [L MLO] and craniocaudal [L CC]) and one with a suspicion of malignancy score of 10% (right craniocaudal [R CC]), shown as polygonal overlays. Without AI, six of 10 readers (60%) marked a false-positive ROI. With AI assistance, this fell to two of 10 (20%). R MLO = right mediolateral oblique.](https://img.auntminnie.com/mindful/smg/workspaces/default/uploads/2026/07/2026-07-14-radiology-mammogram-ai-auto-bias.H0bYO8QlWs.jpg?auto=format%2Ccompress&fit=crop&h=112&q=70&w=112)
