Women's imaging firm Hologic has launched Brevera, a new breast biopsy system, in the U.S.

Hologic's Brevera. Brevera combines tissue acquisition, real-time imaging, sample verification, and postbiopsy handling, and it's designed for both 2D and 3D breast biopsy, the company said. It features Hologic's CorLumina technology, which automates the tissue sample collection and separation process, as well as PACS integration.

The system can be used with Hologic's Affirm prone biopsy system, its Affirm breast biopsy guidance technology, and its MultiCare Platinum system, along with most upright and prone systems on the market, according to the firm.

Size was 0.2 cm; tumor grade II/III; negative lymph nodes; and estrogen receptor–positive, progesterone receptor–positive, and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2–negative.

A normal mammogram confirmed by three-year radiologic follow-up illustrates reader-marked regions of interest (ROIs) during (A) unaided (round 1) and (B) artificial intelligence (AI)–assisted (round 2) reading.
