PACS firm eRAD has begun shipping a mammography module for the company's PACS software.
The module offers a full feature set for breast imaging and integration with eRAD PACS, the firm said. The new software eliminates the need for a dedicated mammography workstation and improves efficiency, eRAD added.
eRAD technology enables multiple modalities -- CT, ultrasound, MRI, mammography, and tomosynthesis -- to be viewed side by side on the same workstation from anywhere, according to the company.
The module also offers computer-aided detection (CAD) support, image manipulation tools, and an optional image enhancement module to assist in visualizing and evaluating subtleties in digital mammograms.
