Laser breast imaging firm Imaging Diagnostic Systems (IDSI) has installed its first CT laser mammography (CTLM) system in Mexico, at the Centro Médico Ave in Monterrey.
The CTLM system is an optical breast imaging device that uses a diffuse optical tomography (DOT) technique to detect breast cancer, the company said. Patented continuous wave laser technology and computed algorithms create 3D images of the breast. The procedure does not expose the patient to ionizing radiation or to breast compression.
The sale was made by ISDI's exclusive distributor in Mexico, Sistemas de Diagnóstico e Imagenología de México.
