Beekley of Bristol, CT, has released Altus, a new mammography skin marker.
Altus uses uniquely shaped markers to identify and communicate specific points of interest on mammographic images, particularly nonpalpable areas such as bug bites, rashes, or bruises.
The marker's square shape clarifies for radiologists that the area is different from any other physically manifested area of concern during an imaging study, allowing for more precise interpretation of mammograms with fewer additional views, repeats, callbacks, or questions, according to Beekley.
