Computer-aided detection (CAD) firm Confirma of Kirkland, WA, announced the results of a recent study on its CADstream system for breast MRI at the 2006 RSNA meeting in Chicago.
The study, by researchers at the University of California, San Francisco, found that CADstream's breast MR tumor-volume measurements can predict the length of recurrence-free survival in patients receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy for locally advanced breast cancer.
The findings also support the use of volumetric measurements of tumor response as an end point for survival outcomes, Confirma said.
