Radiation oncology firm Sirtex Medical has introduced a new way to deliver yttrium-90 (Y-90) for metastatic colorectal cancer radiation therapy.
The program, called SIR-Spheres FLEXdose Select, makes SIR-Spheres Y-90 vials available at 3 mL; the vials contain a microsphere volume of 27 million compared with 44 million in the company's current 5 mL vials.
The new option is intended to give users "more selective treatment targeting," the company said.
