TerraPower Isotopes and Pantera will collaborate to increase the availability of actinium-225, a radioisotope used for cancer treatment.
The companies use two methods to develop the isotope: TerraPower extracts actinium-225 via a natural decay method of thorium-229, and Pantera extracts it via the decay of radium-226.
Pantera is a joint venture created by the Belgian Nuclear Research Center in Mol and proton therapy developer Ion Beam Application.
