Radiosurgery technology developer Zap Surgical Systems has formed a strategic partnership with Apollo Hospitals Enterprise in India.
Zap will provide two Zap-X gyroscopic radiosurgery systems: one in New Delhi and one in Mumbai, India. The Zap-X installations will be the first in South Asia. In addition, the agreement calls for the creation of the Apollo Brain Center as a global radiosurgery center of excellence, according to the vendor.
Zap expects the first patient treatments will commence at Apollo's New Delhi facility in early 2023; treatments at the Mumbai location will begin later.
