
Radiation oncology firm Sirtex Medical is highlighting the successful first administration of its SIR-Spheres yttrium-90 resin microspheres in China.
The first selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT) procedure using the microspheres was successfully performed for a patient with hepatocellular carcinoma on September 28 at Boao Super Hospital in the Hainan Province. The company hit this milestone with support from partners China Grand Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Holdings, it said.
