Radiation oncology firm Elekta said that it raised $29,000 at this week's American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) annual meeting to support uninsured women with breast cancer.
The funds will be donated to Texas WINGS (Women Involved in Nurturing, Giving, Sharing), an organization that provides comprehensive breast cancer treatment and follow-up care at no cost to uninsured women in communities in central and south Texas, Elekta said.
