Brachytherapy seed manufacturer Theragenics and women's health firm Advanced Radiation Therapy (ART) have agreed that Theragenics will distribute ART's AccuBoost technology for the treatment of early-stage breast cancer.
AccuBoost is a real-time mammography-guided radiation therapy unit that has been used to treat more than 5,000 women after lumpectomies since 2007, according to Theragenics. It is also used as a noninvasive option for accelerated partial-breast irradiation, the company said.
