Radiopharmaceutical provider Ion Beam Applications (IBA) has received a second contract for the installation of its ProteusOne single-room proton therapy system in Japan.
The system will be installed on Hokkaido, an island in the north of Japan, and is expected to treat its first patient in 2017. IBA did not disclose the final price and identity of the contractor, but it said the typical end-user price for ProteusOne ranges from 20 million to 25 million euros ($27 million to $34 million U.S.).
