Radiation therapy firm Varian Medical Systems announced that Chulabhorn Hospital in Bangkok is now using its TrueBeam radiosurgical treatment system, the first hospital in Thailand to use this product.
Radiation oncologists at the Chulabhorn Hospital anticipate using TrueBeam primarily for radiosurgical procedures for lung and liver cancer patients who are deemed inoperable. A patient with recurrent liver cancer was among the first to receive stereotactic ablative radiotherapy treatments, according to Varian.
