University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center in Cleveland has announced plans to build a $30 million proton therapy center that is scheduled to open in 2014.
University Hospitals has signed an agreement with vendor Still River Systems to purchase a Monarch250 proton beam radiation therapy system.
Seidman Cancer Center, designated a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the U.S. National Cancer Institute (NCI), is scheduled next month to open a 150-bed hospital that has been built on the University Hospitals Case Medical Center campus.
