Demand for its TrueBeam system, oncology services, and x-ray tubes and panels contributed to revenue and earnings growth for radiation therapy firm Varian Medical Systems in its fiscal second quarter.
For the period (end-April 1), the vendor had revenues of $648 million, up 11% from the $586 million reported in the second quarter of fiscal 2010. Varian had net earnings of $103 million, compared with $91 million a year ago.
