Radiation oncology vendor Nucletron of Veenendaal, the Netherlands, and women's health firm Advanced Radiation Therapy (ART) of Billerica, MA, are teaming up to provide an AccuBoost breast brachytherapy system to Cook County Radiation Oncology at Jackson Park Hospital in Chicago.
AccuBoost brachytherapy is provided under real-time mammography guidance and uses high-dose-rate brachytherapy to help localize and treat a lumpectomy site; a special applicator is positioned to deliver radiation in conjunction with Nucletron's microSelectron HDR brachytherapy afterloader treatment delivery system, according to the firms.
