Oncology firm Elekta of Stockholm, Sweden, has installed its Leksell Gamma Knife Perfexion system at Furukawa Seiryo Hospital in Miyagi, Japan.
The 100-bed hospital's neurosurgery program is using the gamma knife for stereotactic radiosurgery. So far the facility has treated 107 cases, 60% of which were brain metastases.
