The American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology is partnering with the Rocky Mountain Candlelighters for Childhood Cancer. The group is the Salt Lake City-based local affiliate of the National Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation, and provides support to children who have or have had cancer, and their families, according to ASTRO of Fairfax, VA.
ASTRO is sponsoring the Candlelighters’ Sibshop monthly workshop, in which children aged 5-11 living with cancer and their siblings get together for a seasonal craft activity. Some of the children have also been invited to attend ASTRO’s annual meeting in Salt Lake City October 19-23 as special VIP guests, ASTRO said.
