Hyperfine said that the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi has initiated clinical use of its Swoop portable MRI system, marking the first bedside MRI deployment for routine clinical use in India.
The portable system requires no dedicated shielded room, specialized power, or patient transfer, making it suitable for use in ICUs, trauma bays, stroke units, and neonatal wards, the company said. Hyperfine received regulatory clearance in India in December 2025.
The deployment is being led by Shailesh Gaikwad, MD, head of the department of neuroimaging and interventional neuroradiology and chief of the neuroscience center at AIIMS New Delhi. The Swoop system is distributed in India by Radiosurgery Global.
