Contrast developer Bracco Imaging, the parent company of Bracco Diagnostics, has acquired Swiss Medical Care (SMC).
The Lausanne-based company specializes in research, production, and marketing of automated systems for the administration of contrast agents for diagnostic imaging, such as its CT Exprés injector. The firm was founded in 2003.
Fulvio Renoldi, the head of Bracco's global imaging business unit, said the purchase allows Bracco to advance its portfolio of products for radiology and diagnostic imaging. Bracco bought Acist Medical Systems in 2001 and E-Z-EM in 2008.
