Finnish x-ray detector developer Detection Technology is releasing X-Tile HS, a CT detector module that can be tiled on all four sides. Manufacturers can use it as one standard building block for both rotating-gantry and stationary multisource CT systems.

The module scales from 32-slice scanners up to cardiac and high-end systems with 64 to 256 slices or more, which allows manufacturers build several CT platforms without developing a dedicated detector for each one, according to the company. Specifications include the following:

  • 512 channels per module in a 16 × 32 pixel layout, with a uniform 1.12 mm × 1.06 mm pixel pitch across module boundaries

  • Integration times configurable from 50 µs to 1.6 ms, covering both rotating-gantry protocols and the short x-ray pulses of stationary multisource systems

  • On-module 24-bit digitization with a 121-dB dynamic range

  • Gadolinium oxysulfide (GOS) scintillator with backside-illuminated photodiodes

  • Typical power consumption of 0.65 W per tile and a module height of 11.35 mm

The company noted it will be exhibiting X-Tile HS at RSNA 2026 to be held November 29 to December 2 in Chicago.
