Virtual colonoscopy services provider Lifetest Imaging has partnered with Nashville Gastroenterology Consultants to provide same-day removal of precancerous polyps detected by virtual colonography, according to the two firms based in Nashville, TN.
The radiologist/gastroenterologist alliance means that the estimated 8% of patients whose virtual colonoscopy results indicate the need for polypectomy can proceed across the street for immediate conventional colonoscopy, obviating the need for a second appointment and a second bowel cleansing for these patients, the companies said. Lifetest also offers lung and heart screening services.
