Cardinal Health unveils BMD CT application

Cardinal Health has introduced clinical software for bone mineral density (BMD) analysis.

The product, PC/QCT Bone Mineral Density Software, requires a CT scan procedure and can be applied to an exam expressly for the evaluation of bone density in five minutes, according to the Cleveland-based firm.

The application can be applied to any CT abdominal or spine exam without the need for external phantoms because it references internal tissues, which allows exam time to be reduced by up to 50%, the company said.
