Imaging technology developer Analogic reported record revenue of $160.5 million in its second quarter, up 121% from the $72.6 million reported in the second quarter a year ago. For the period (end-January 31, 2003), the Peabody, MA-based vendor had record net income of $21.2 million, compared with a net income of $605,000 last year.
Revenues for the first two quarters were a record $296.2 million, compared with revenue for the first two quarters of 2001 of $148.4 million, an increase of 100%. Net income for the six-month period was $41.4 million, compared with a net loss of $5.7 million for the same period a year ago.
Analogic attributed the strong performance to growth in the company’s security imaging business. The company shipped a record number of its EXACT baggage-scanning CT scanners, with 425 systems shipped during calendar 2002.
