A personal history of the patient's contact with birds is needed as well.

PET/CT demonstrates high sensitivity in pulmonary nodule staging

CHICAGO - FDG-PET/CT showed higher sensitivity than contrast-enhanced CT in the nodal staging of pulmonary lesions, according to information from an Italian research team. However, contrast-enhanced CT (CECT) revealed a higher specificity than FDG-PET/CT in characterizing pulmonary lesions, the group reported.

Fine-needle aspiration biopsy useful for smallest lung nodules

CHICAGO - In the RSNA's interventional lung session on Wednesday, Dr. Demetris Patsios from the Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Canada, presented a study on the efficacy of MDCT-guided fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) of subcentimeter nodules, concluding that FNAB is a useful tool, if less accurate than FNAB of larger lesions.
