Voxar builds sales organization

3-D software developer Voxar is aggressively building up its sales infrastructure. The Edinburgh, Scotland-based firm has hired Bob Brannon as vice president of North American sales and Skip Amiot as vice president of international business development, the company said.

PACS and teleradiology veteran Brannon comes to Voxar after stints at Siemens Medical Systems and Cemax-Icon. One of the founders of Icon Medical Systems, Brannon will be responsible for Voxar’s U.S. software sales growth, business development activity, and management of new regional sales teams in Florida, Kansas, and Colorado, according to the firm.

Amiot, who spent 10 years at Cemax-Icon, will handle a region covering Asia Pacific, southern Africa, and Latin America. Both Brannon and Amiot will be based in Voxar’s new sales headquarters in Charlotte, NC, where they will lead a 10-person regional sales team. They will join Don Alvarez, who has been promoted to senior vice president of business development.

Voxar also announced several new regional sales managers. Based in Jacksonville, FL, eastern regional sales manager Nick Hall comes to Voxar from Merge Technologies. PACS and teleradiology specialist Alan Potts, previously at Riptide Technologies, has been appointed regional sales manager for the central region based in Kansas City. Doug Collie, a former senior sales manager at Data General’s PACS division, will work from Colorado Springs as Voxar’s new western regional sales manager. All three will report directly to Bob Brannon, according to Voxar.

Voxar, which recently raised $7.25 million in capital financing, said it is poised for an initial public offering by the end of 2001.
