ADAC results surge in Q3

Nuclear medicine and radiation therapy firm ADAC Laboratories continues its strong comeback from the financial difficulties of previous years. The Milpitas, CA-based vendor had fiscal third-quarter revenues of $87.3 million, a 15% increase over the $75.6 million reported in the same period last year.

For the period (end-July 2), ADAC had net income of $4.6 million, compared with a net loss of $5.4 million, excluding pre-tax restructuring and nonordinary charges, in the third quarter of 1999. Growing demand for the vendor’s PET scanners and improvements in its two software businesses contributed to the strong results, according to chairman and CEO Andrew Eckert.
