Prostate Cancer Foundation names 2025 Challenge Award recipients

The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) has announced the recipients of its 2025 Challenge Awards, distributing more than $12 million across 12 multi-institutional research teams working on prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment.

The funded projects include therapeutic strategies combining radiation with targeted drugs for patients with high-risk gene mutations, AI tools for pathology diagnosis and risk prediction, and new immunotherapies to overcome treatment resistance, according to the organization.

Each award is typically $1 million distributed over two to three years and requires a minimum of three team members, including one early-career investigator, the PCF said. The 2025 class was selected from 106 applicant teams. Since the program launched in 2008, the PCF has invested nearly $290 million through the Challenge Awards initiative, it noted.
