The American Board of Radiology (ABR) is using authID's facial biometric authentication technology, Verified, to confirm identity of certification candidates.

The ABR oversees certification of physicians and medical physicists who have completed diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, or medical physics training. In May of last year, the ABR launched an online exam procedure for this certification, which prompted a need to remotely verify the identity of exam takers.

AuthID's Verified will use a "selfie" taken via webcam or mobile device to confirm exam-takers' identities, the ABR said.
