The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Foundation has awarded two $25,000 traditional research grants to investigative groups at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.

The funded projects are the following:
- "A Prospective Observational Survey Study Exploring Inpatients Receiving Radiation Therapy at a Single Academic Medical Institution," led by therapeutic radiographer Clodagh Starrs, MSc, PgC, as principal investigator. Co-investigators are Maria Dimopoulos, PhD, R.T.(T), Alex Ashley, BPS, R.T.(R)(T), Samantha Skubish, MS, R.T.(R)(T), Katherine Lynch, BS, R.T.(T), and Danielle McDonagh, DHSc, R.T.(T).
- "Developing a Skills Acquisition Framework for Advanced Practice Radiation Therapists," led by Dimopoulos, with co-investigators Starrs and Melanie Clarkson, MSc, PgCE, PFHEA.
Dimopoulos is an assistant professor in radiation oncology at Mount Sinai and leads radiation therapy and medical dosimetry programs. Starrs, an advanced practice radiation therapist, is nationally recognized for advancing the role in the U.S., according to the foundation.
The ASRT Foundation's traditional research grant program provides up to $25,000 per project.
