The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Museum and Archives in Albuquerque, NM, has introduced a self-guided video tour for onsite visitors.
This allows guests to explore the museum's 131-year history of the ASRT and the medical imaging and radiation therapy profession at their own pace using a handheld device with headphones.
The 17-stop tour is narrated by museum executive director Bill Brennan and covers topics including the discovery of x-rays by Wilhelm Roentgen, pioneers such as Marie Curie and Nikola Tesla, the military's influence on the profession, and authentic medical imaging equipment used in battlefield settings. Appointments are required and visits are expected to last more than an hour. The traditional guided tour also remains available by appointment.
