ARRS bestows 2026 Distinguished Educator Award

The American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) has bestowed its 2026 Distinguished Educator Award on Judy Yee, MD, chair of radiology at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY.

The award recognizes outstanding individuals in the field of medical imaging who have helped improve radiological education and are committed to creating and implementing new and innovative educational activities, the society said.

As well as her duties at Montefiore, Yee also serves as professor of radiology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, also in the Bronx. Her research focuses on colorectal cancer screening and early detection using CT colonography. Yee has published more than 130 articles in scientific journals, has written 23 book chapters on the subject of gastrointestinal and abdominal radiology, and is the editor and primary author of "Virtual Colonoscopy," one of the primary textbooks on the topic. Additionally, she holds a patent on enhanced virtual colonoscopy.
