Imaging services provider Alliance Imaging reported fourth-quarter revenues of $101.6 million, down 1.9% compared with the $103.6 million posted in the same period last year. For the quarter (end-December 31), the Anaheim, CA-based company had net income of $6.5 million, compared with net income of $8.4 million a year ago.
Alliance had revenues of $415 million for the year, an uptick of 0.8% compared with the $412 million booked in 2002. The company had a net loss for the year of $31.6 million, compared with net income of $35.9 million in fiscal 2002.
Chairman and CEO Paul Viviano said that the company continues to focus on stabilizing its core shared-service MRI business. He noted that 2003 PET revenue increased to $56 million, an 87% increase over 2002, and that the firm is selectively pursing freestanding imaging center opportunities, most in partnerships with hospitals and health systems.
