Toshiba launches Aquilion cardiac software

Toshiba America Medical Systems of Tustin, CA, has debuted cardiac software upgrades for its Aquilion One and Aquilion Premium CT systems.

The new cardiac CT software package is designed to reduce radiation exposure while maintaining image quality. It includes Toshiba's new one-beat prospective reconstruction protocol, which shortens the interval window and reduces radiation exposure time; real-time beat control, which calculates the running real-time average of the heart rate to predict the next heartbeat for a more accurately timed scan; and SureStart, which can determine contrast uptake time for a more accurate image, according to Toshiba.
