U-Systems, Siemens to collaborate

U-Systems of San Jose, CA, has inked a technology licensing agreement with the Ultrasound Business Unit of Siemens Healthcare of Malvern, PA.

The U-Systems' work-in-progress somo-Viewer advanced workstation for automated breast ultrasound has been licensed for use with Siemens' Acuson S2000 automated breast volume scanner, which is pending regulatory clearance.

The combination is designed to allow physicians to obtain a 3D view of the breast volume, which features U-Systems' anatomical coronal plane.
