Toshiba provides Aplio CV ultrasound for Johns Hopkins trial

Toshiba America Medical Systems will contribute its Aplio CV ultrasound system to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center's clinical study using ultrasound and CT to assess outcomes following cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT).

The study will try to determine which echocardiography measurement or combination of measurements best predicts CT-determined reverse-remodeling in cardiac patients undergoing resynchronization therapy. It will also explore whether coronary venous anatomy predicts CT-determined reverse-remodeling in cardiac patients undergoing resynchronization therapy.

Aplio CV will be used for 30 months in conjunction with Toshiba's Aquilion 64 CFX 64-slice CT system.
