Cedara, MIA sign distribution deal

Cedara Software, a subsidiary of Milwaukee-based Merge Healthcare, and arterial analysis software firm Medical Imaging Applications (MIA) of Coralville, IA, have signed an exclusive agreement in which Cedara will distribute MIA's vascular software applications to OEMs through its global networks.

MIA's products are designed to help clinicians in the early detection of cardiovascular disease through ultrasound measurements of arteries in the neck and arm. Mississauga, Ontario-based Cedara will market the software packaged in workstations and as imaging system components in its C4 integration platform.
