3M Health plans to collaborate with Amazon Web Services (AWS) on further development of its 3M M*Modal speech recognition software, specifically ramping up its ambient intelligence capability.

As part of the collaboration, 3M will use AWS machine-learning tools, including Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Comprehend Medical, and Amazon Transcribe Medical. 3M plans to focus on its conversational AI platform, it said, which supports M*Modal Fluency Direct for real-time speech recognition and M*Modal Fluency Align for clinical documentation.
