Olympus has signed an exclusive global distribution agreement with EndoRobotics, adding the company's robot-assisted technologies to Olympus' EndoTherapy portfolio.
Under the agreement, EndoRobotics' technologies will support complex endoscopic procedures such as endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), which removes diseased GI tissue without organ resection, according to the companies. The robot-assisted tools are designed to enhance precision, control, and efficiency in such procedures, they said.
The companies plan to launch initially in the U.S., with additional regional rollouts to follow subject to regulatory requirements.
