Multimodality vendor Siemens Medical Solutions of Malvern, PA, has signed an OEM agreement with intraoperative MRI developer IMRIS of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Under the terms of the deal, Siemens' Magnetom Espree and Magnetom Symphony MRI scanners will be incorporated into IMRIS' iMotion ceiling-mounted surgical imaging system. iMotion mounts an MRI scanner onto a ceiling-mounted track that enables the system to move between a diagnostic imaging area and the operating room.
The deal between the companies will make the iMotion system more practical for potential buyers as the scanner can be used both for diagnostic imaging and surgical use, according to the companies.
