This two-day program provides a comprehensive introduction to the science and practice of fetal echocardiography. The course will provide an understanding of the unique requirements of fetal echo in the diagnosis of structural malformations of the heart and will also include the use of pulsed, continuous wave, and color Doppler as well as M-mode in fetal cardiovascular diagnosis. Findings from the ultrasonographic/Doppler assessment of fetal cardiovascular physiology will be related to the pre- and postnatal management of congenital heart disease. Throughout the program, the clinical importance of observations made during the fetal echo exam will be detailed.
