DHIMS 2008 will begin with a day-long PACS primer that will cover the ABCs of implementing a digital environment and the impact the digital environment will have on the workflow and productivity of radiologists, technologists, prospective PACS administrators, and referring physicians.This balance of the conference will discuss solutions to problems that impact radiology's ability to provide essential healthcare information efficiently to healthcare professionals throughout the digital healthcare environment. These problem areas include availability and accessibility; interoperability of clinical applications; productivity enhancements; change management; communications; storage management; maintaining DHIMS; security, privacy and risk management; and economics of DHIMS. Workshops: Interoperability demonstrations, integrated clinical application workstation, and advanced visualization workstation workshop.
