AMI brings two organizations under its wing

The Academy of Molecular Imaging has merged with the Society of Non-Invasive Imaging in Drug Development (SNIDD) and High Resolution Imaging in Small Animals (HiRes).

SNIDD works to inform and educate scientists from the pharmaceutical industry, academia, and regulatory agencies of the basic information obtainable using noninvasive imaging, and the potential application of that information to drug discovery, research, and development, according to AMI. HiRes is an independent basic science and technology molecular imaging organization.

SNIDD will become a separate council in the AMI, while HiRes will join the AMI's existing Institute for Molecular Imaging. AMI currently has four separate institutes, each with its own governing council under the general AMI board of directors, according to Los Angeles-based AMI.
