More and more clinical evidence suggests that using digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) for breast cancer screening reduces recall rates and increases cancer detection. At the recent European Congress of Radiology (ECR), Italian researchers added another benefit to the technology's list: DBT helps breast imagers categorize lesions more accurately -- which can lead to downstream benefits such as decreased patient anxiety and more cost-effective treatment.
