Revenue growth in all of its business segments propelled women's imaging vendor Hologic to positive results in the second quarter of fiscal 2015 (end-March 28).
Second-quarter revenues grew 5% to $655.5 million, compared with $625 million in the second quarter of 2014. The company also posted net income of $47.8 million, compared with a net loss of $16.8 million in the previous year's second quarter.
For the six-month period, revenues advanced 6% to $1.308 billion, compared with $1.237 billion in the same period of fiscal 2014. Hologic reported net income of $77 million, compared with a net loss of $22.1 million in the first six months of 2014.
Based on its strong performance in the second quarter of fiscal 2015, Hologic raised its revenue estimates for the third quarter by 2% to 3% to the $644 million to $655 million range.
