Bothell, WA-based Dopl Technologies has raised $6.3 million in funding to support development of its remote robotic ultrasound system.
The funding will support product verification and validation, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) submission and clearance activities, clinical evaluation, and initial market release for the system, according to the company. Dopl's platform includes Traverse, the remote robotic ultrasound system; Dopl Connect, a connectivity and data platform; and SonoFlex, a distributed clinical workforce and workflow management tool. The hardware-agnostic system integrates off-the-shelf robots, ultrasound systems, haptic controllers, and cameras for deployment across existing hospital infrastructure, the firm said.
The funding round was led by SpringTide Ventures, bringing the company’s total funding to more than $8 million. Additional investors in the round included WRF Capital, Tacoma Venture Fund, HeartX, Transform Health Ventures, and Precursor Ventures.
